Car Cover Care Instructions

A quick 10-step guide on how to take care and prolong the life of your Weathermate Car Cover

Care Instructions for your Weathermate Car Cover

  1. The Weathermate car cover must not, under any circumstances, be fitted to a vehicle that is hot or wet. Ensure vehicle is cool and dry before fitting the car cover.

  2. Do not fit to a newly painted vehicle. Allow paint to cure for a minimum of 3 months prior to fitting.

  3. Regularly clean the car cover to remove dust, dirt, and any other debris. Use a soft brush or a damp cloth to wipe the surface gently. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the material.

  4. When not in use, store the car cover in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. Folding or rolling the cover neatly can prevent creases and help maintain its shape.

  5. If the car cover gets wet, allow it to dry completely before storage. Hang in a well-ventilated area or lay flat on a clean surface. Avoid using heat sources such as heaters or dryers, as excessive heat can distort, melt or otherwise damage the material.

  6. Take precautions to prevent the car cover from making contact with sharp objects such as antennas or edges that could puncture or tear the material. Inspect the car cover regularly for any signs of damage and replace if necessary.

  7. Car covers are designed to provide UV protection for your vehicle. However, prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can gradually degrade the material. Whenever possible, park your car in a shaded area.

  8. The car cover is designed to be waterproof, this limits breathability and may cause condensation to form under the cover. Remove, clean and air out the car cover every two weeks. For situations where this is not possible, we recommend covering the vehicle with a clean cotton sheet before fitting the car cover.

  9. Avoid allowing gasoline, oil, solvents, and other chemicals coming into contact that can stain or degrade the material. If any spills occur, clean them immediately with a mild soap and water solution.

  10. Failure to adhere to these instructions may lead to damage of your paintwork. Manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by failure to observe these instructions.
